DNA Fragmentation

Nuclear mediated apoptosis is characterized by chromatin condensation and progressive DNA cleavage into low-molecular-weight fragments called DNA ladder. BioVision offers several novel kits for fast and sensitive detection of DNA ladder in apoptotic cells. Unlike other similar kits on the market which require 1-2 days to prepare nucleic acids, the new procedures require only 1-2 hours to prepare chromosomal DNA. DNA ladders can easily be visualized by agarose gel electrophoresis. The new Apoptotic DNA Ladder Isolation Kit can specifically extract laddered DNA, making it work well for both tissue and cell samples. The TUNEL-based DNA fragmentation assay kits provide complete components including positive and negative control cells or tissue slides for convenient detection of DNA fragmentation in cultured cells and tissue sections. Results can be analyzed by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy.
