Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK) Inhibitors
Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is a non-receptor cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinase found to be overexpressed in many advance stage cancers and appears to be a valuable target for development of anti-cancer agents. It plays a key role in signaling cascade leading towards tumorigenic properties of cancer cells. FAK activation induces cell proliferation, motility, survival, invasion and metastasis. FAK inhibitors can downregulate FAK expression and decrease cellular functions associated with cancer growth and progression. FAK inhibitors have demonstrated its effectiveness by inducing tumor cell apoptosis with reduction in metastasis and angiogenesis. BioVision is pleased to offer a number of small molecule FAK inhibitors for cancer research.
