Rabbit Monoclonal Antibodies

BioVision is proud to offer a large number of Rabbit Monoclonal antibodies for research purposes.

Although conventionally mice are used for monoclonal antibodies, recent research trends show a proclivity towards Rabbit monoclonal antibodies. Monoclonal antibodies from rabbits are prepared similarly as in mice. Rabbits are immunized with immunogenic peptide and spleen cells are then fused with cell-culture derived myeloma cells in vitro to form hybridomas. Hybridomas are then screened for clones based on the antigen specificity and class of immunoglobulin after which they are subjected to purification, validation and expansion. Rabbit monoclonal antibodies offer some advantages over mouse monoclonals such as better immunogenic response to antigens as compared to mice, they recognize a wide range of epitopes and avoiding recognition of self-antigens. Therefore, to aid customers in their research studies, BioVision offers a variety of rabbit monoclonal antibodies that are highly sensitive, specific, and have higher affinity than mouse monoclonal antibodies.
