BioVision, Inc., a privately held Life Science company, develops and offers world-wide, a variety of products including assay kits, antibodies, recombinant proteins & enzymes, and other innovative research tools for studying Apoptosis, Metabolism, Cell Proliferation, Cellular Stress, Cell Damage and Repair, Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome, Stem Cell Biology, Gene Regulation, Signal Transduction, etc.

Position Summary

Develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    ● Supports recruitment efforts for full time, part time and temporary employees using the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures; maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
    ● Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals.
    ● Recommends new approaches, updates to policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
    ● Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and engagement
    ● Writes directives advising department managers of company policies regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
    ● Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
    ● Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
    ● Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
    ● Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
    ● Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
    ● Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
    ● Administers benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
    ● Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
    ● Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
    ● Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
    ● Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
    ● Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.

    ● Strong organizational skills
    ● Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
    ● Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in HR, business or related field required. 2-3 years' experience in Human Resources is preferred.
