Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work in our Sales & Marketing Department.

Position Summary:

The main aim of this position is to grow the direct sales in the San Francisco bay area by establishing relationships with the local academic, biotech and pharmaceutical companies and customers. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in sales, particularly in Life Science, as well as an appropriate Life Science degree (M.Sc or Ph.D preferable).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Meet or exceed sales objectives set by the BioVision management
  • Identify and maximize profitable sales opportunities within the existing customer base
  • Establish long-term relationships with the customers and match BioVision’s capabilities with customer needs
  • Look for new business opportunities within the territory
  • Present and articulate product features and benefits to customers
  • Develop territory-specific marketing strategies
  • Identify key contacts and decision makers to maximize the benefits from customer visits
  • Develop a customer-specific account management approach, identifying new business and growth opportunities
  • Work with the Product Managers to identify new opportunities and generate leads
  • Provide input into the development of new marketing strategies and ideas
  • Maintain competitive market knowledge including products and markets
  • Collect feedback from the customers regarding potential new products and communicate this to the appropriate personnel internally
  • Provide accurate analysis about current sales performance and market trends for the territory
  • Collect information on competitors in the region
  • Proactively use all available internal sales support and marketing resources to drive sales
  • Attend trade shows in coordination with the Marketing Department
  • All other duties as required
The Ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge/skills:
  • Effective selling including closing the deals
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented and ability to work under pressure
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; technical and analytical skills; problem-solving and organizational skills; presentation skills; highly confident with proven leadership abilities
  • Networking, negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent understanding of the sales process
  • In-depth knowledge of Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, etc.
  • Computer literacy including MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, on-line databases

Education and/or Experience:

A BS/MS/Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry/Cell Biology/Molecular Biology with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in a Life Science industry.

Travel Requirement:

~80% of the time
