100 assays. The kit provides unique formulations of buffers and reagents that allow isolation of a highly enriched mitochondrial fraction from cytosol fraction of mammalian cells. The fractionation procedure is simple and staightforward. No ultracentrifugations are required. No toxic chemicals are involved. The enriched mitochondrial and cytosolic fractions can be used to detect translocations of factors you are interested between the two fractions by Western blot analysis/ELISA or other assays. An example of the applications is the determination of the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria into cytosol during apoptosis (see Cytocheome c Releasing Apoptosis Assay Kit K257-100).
